Senior Azure AI Document Intelligence Engineer – OCR

Introduction: We are currently seeking a Senior Azure AI Document Intelligence Engineer with expertise in Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to join our team. This role will be based in Irving, TX with a hybrid work model, requiring 3 days onsite. The ideal candidate will have at least 12 years of experience in this field.

Responsibilities:

• Azure AI Document Intelligence / OCR implementation
• Utilize Azure Databricks, Azure ML, and MLflow for document analysis
• Develop and maintain Python scripts, SQL queries, and work with REST APIs and Azure SDKs
• Create Document Classification and Custom Extraction Models
• Handle Invoice/Contract OCR and Table/Line-item Extraction tasks
• Conduct ML Model Evaluation including Precision, Recall, F1, and Accuracy metrics
• Implement Confidence Scoring and Validation processes
• Work with OpenAI, Generative AI, and Azure AI Search technologies

Required:

• Azure AI Document Intelligence / OCR experience
• Proficiency in Azure Databricks, Azure ML, and MLflow
• Strong skills in Python, SQL, REST APIs, and Azure SDKs
• Experience with Document Classification and Custom Extraction Models
• Familiarity with Invoice/Contract OCR and Table/Line-item Extraction
• Ability to perform ML Model Evaluation (precision, recall, F1, accuracy)
• Knowledge of Confidence Scoring and Validation techniques
• Understanding of OpenAI, Generative AI, and Azure AI Search

Preferred: SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Coupa, Ariba experience; working with multilingual documents; knowledge of active learning, model drift, and human-in-the-loop processes.
