Job Title: Unix Admin

Job Summary

  • We are looking for an experienced C / Unix / SQL Engineer with strong Healthcare MMIS (Medicaid Management Information System) experience. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting applications in a Unix/Linux environment, along with strong SQL skills.
  • Experience working with Healthcare MMIS systems is mandatory, with a strong understanding of Medicaid/healthcare claims and related business processes preferred.

  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
  • Mandatory experience working with Healthcare MMIS (Medicaid Management Information System)
  • Experience with Unix system administration and troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of batch processing and production support
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot applications using C in a Unix/Linux environment.
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database processes.
  • Perform Unix administration activities, including file management, permissions, process monitoring, job scheduling, and system troubleshooting.
  • Support and maintain MMIS applications and healthcare/Medicaid-related systems.
  • Analyze production issues, identify root causes, and implement appropriate resolutions.
  • Work with healthcare data, claims processing, eligibility, provider, enrollment, and other MMIS-related functions.
  • Monitor batch jobs and application processes and resolve failures or performance issues.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, developers, system administrators, and other technical teams.
  • Participate in application upgrades, enhancements, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Prepare technical documentation and support operational procedures.
  • Follow established development, security, change-management, and production-support processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience with C programming.
  • Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Previous experience with Healthcare MMIS / Medicaid systems is required.
  • Experience with Unix administration and application support.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
