Our client seeks a senior Enterprise Ontology and Semantic Architecture Lead to define and establish the data foundation that enables enterprise-wide analytics, AI, and knowledge-driven solutions. The role will lead the development of an enterprise data blueprint with a focus on ontologies, semantic layers, knowledge models, and data relationships across the organization. This individual will translate complex business domains and data assets into structured, connected, machine-readable knowledge that supports AI, analytics, search, and other enterprise applications.

Rate: $100.00 to $110.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:

• Define and establish an enterprise data and information blueprint, including core domains, entities, relationships, and data concepts.
• Lead the design and development of enterprise ontologies and semantic models that create a common understanding of organizational data.
• Build and evolve semantic layers and knowledge models that connect disparate data sources and enable consistent interpretation across the enterprise.
• Define relationships between data, business concepts, systems, and entities to support knowledge graph and graph-based solutions.
• Partner with business, data, AI, and technology leaders to translate business concepts into scalable information and knowledge structures.
• Establish standards, patterns, and governance for ontology development, semantic modeling, metadata, and knowledge representation.
• Help shape the technical architecture and roadmap for knowledge graphs, semantic technologies, and AI-ready enterprise data.
• Work closely with engineering teams to translate conceptual models into scalable production implementations.

Experience Requirements:

• Significant experience designing and implementing enterprise ontologies, semantic layers, or knowledge models.
• Strong understanding of data relationships, knowledge representation, taxonomy, metadata, and semantic modeling.
• Experience with knowledge graphs, graph databases, or graph-based data architectures.
• Proven ability to develop an enterprise-level data or information architecture or blueprint across complex business domains.
• Experience translating business concepts and domain knowledge into formal data and semantic models.
• Strong understanding of modern data architecture and its application to AI, machine learning, analytics, and enterprise search.
• Ability to operate strategically with senior stakeholders while partnering with technical teams on implementation.
