Our technology protects the world's most sensitive data, and we’re looking for a Principal Product Designer who can make advanced AI and security infrastructure feel intuitive, trusted, and human.
As a Principal Product Designer at VIA, you will be embedded within our AI platform team, partnering closely with our Design Team, Product Owners, and Engineering to own end-to-end design for complex, high-stakes systems. Our products sit at the intersection of artificial intelligence, secure data exploration, and agentic workflows, built for environments where trust, precision, and data protection are non-negotiable. In this role, you will help define what we build and how it works, translating sophisticated technical architectures and real-world customer challenges into experiences that are as intuitive as they are secure. You'll take ownership from discovery through handoff, moving fluidly between strategic problem framing and high-fidelity execution.
Are you ready to join us?
In this role, you will:
- Own end-to-end UX/UI design across VIA's product suite, including AI-native platforms, agentic workflow interfaces, multiplayer and collaborative data environments, and permission-controlled data sharing experiences
- Rapidly translate high-level workflows into low-fidelity mockups that give engineering teams something concrete to react to, reducing ambiguity and accelerating iteration
- Design for secure-by-default interaction patterns where data visibility, access control, and sharing are core UX constraints, not afterthoughts
- Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate tradeoffs between technical complexity and user value, influencing roadmap direction
- Lead strategic design efforts for data-driven platforms, focusing on cohesive workflows and scalable systems rather than isolated screens
- Partner with Engineering to explore technical constraints, align on backend logic, and support thoughtful execution of complex features
- Translate technical requirements and security-focused constraints into clear, high-fidelity product concepts
- Transition seamlessly from high-level strategy and wireframing to the execution of prototypes, component documentation, and UI copy
- Champion the responsible leveraging of AI as a key aspect of our human-centered design process, helping to refine our AI-first design efforts.
- Establish and evolve design patterns and principles that support long-term consistency and scalability across our technology suite
Requirements
- 8+ years of product design experience, with at least 3 in complex enterprise or technical domains (AI platforms, cybersecurity, identity, or data-intensive systems)
- Technical fluency: You're comfortable working directly with engineering, reading system architecture, and designing within real constraints, not around them. You can synthesize complex information quickly and influence product direction as a result
- Agentic and collaborative workflow experience: You've navigated UX problems where multiple users or multiple agents interact with shared state, and you know how to make those flows feel clear, not chaotic
- Strategic curiosity: You are known for asking the right questions that uncover hidden technical problems or user needs in high-stakes environments
- Systemic thinking: You have a proven ability to design for complex workflows and security-focused systems where trust and precision are paramount
- Strong visual design sensibility: You have a keen aesthetic eye and can bring clarity and craft to complex, technical interfaces
- Design leadership and mentorship: You are a champion for design excellence and take an active role in scaling the team by mentoring designers, refining our internal processes, and elevating the quality of our collective output
