Job Overview

 

Our client is seeking a certified Paralegal to join their team in Newark, NJ. The selected candidate will support a government agency's Review Unit, assisting with due process matters, licensee appeals, legal research, and statutory compliance tasks. This is a full-time, onsite role with business casual dress code and parking provided.

Key Responsibilities

 

• Assist the Division of Consumer Affairs (DCA) Review Unit with due process and licensee appeal situations
• Interview clients and gather relevant information
• Research legal questions and applicable statutes
• Review criminal histories in support of licensing decisions
• Support the team with additional statutory requirements as needed

Required Skills

 

• Valid Paralegal certification (mandatory)
• Prior paralegal experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Skills

 

• Strong legal research skills
• Experience in a government or regulatory environment
