Job Title: Senior Network Engineer (Fortinet)
Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid)
 
Job Summary Senior Network Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing enterprise network infrastructure, security platforms, and hybrid cloud connectivity. The role requires expertise in Fortinet technologies, Cisco networking, Azure networking, and enterprise security solutions while supporting highly available production environments.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and support enterprise LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, and Wireless networks.
  • Manage and optimize Cisco routing, switching, and network infrastructure.
  • Configure and support enterprise firewalls, load balancers, including Fortinet FortiGate, FortiADC, and network security appliances.
  • Support hybrid cloud connectivity between on-premises data centers and Microsoft Azure.
  • Administer network technologies including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, QoS, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.
  • Monitor network performance, capacity, and availability using enterprise monitoring tools, including LogicMonitor.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents and production issues.
  • Implement network segmentation, access controls, and security best practices utilizing the Fortinet Security Fabric.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Security teams on vulnerability remediation and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain network documentation, diagrams, standards, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in on-call support and major incident response activities.

Qualifications
  • Extensive Network Engineering experience in enterprise environments, typically gained through 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiEMS, FortiManager, or similar firewall and security platforms.
  • Experience supporting VPN technologies, remote access solutions, and secure connectivity, including Fortinet SSL VPN and IPsec.
  • Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, STP, VLANs, QoS, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience with Azure networking services, including Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, and VPN Gateways.
  • Experience supporting highly available production environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • CCNP, CCIE, or Fortinet NSE 4/8 certification preferred.
  • Experience within Banking, Mortgage Lending, or Financial Services organizations preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with the broader Fortinet Security Fabric preferred.
  • Familiarity with network automation and Infrastructure as Code concepts preferred.
  • Exposure to Zero Trust and modern network security architectures preferred.
