Senior Systems Administrator (Unix/Linux)

ATG is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer Minorities/Females/Vets/Disability Job Summary ATG is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator (Unix/Linux) to support NSWCDD Code 104. The selected candidate will administer, secure, maintain, and optimize enterprise Unix and Linux server environments supporting mission-critical Department of the Navy systems. The role includes systems administration, patch management, automation, performance tuning, cybersecurity compliance, and operational support.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux and other Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Perform system hardening, STIG implementation, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
- Monitor server performance, availability, and capacity while resolving complex system issues.
- Manage user accounts, file systems, storage, permissions, and system backups.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts and automation to improve system administration processes.
- Support RMF, continuous monitoring, and cybersecurity compliance activities.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with Government stakeholders and technical teams.
- Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, and system configuration records.
Qualifications Required
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum seven (7) years of professional systems administration experience, including Unix/Linux environments.
- Current DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level III certification.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 5 investigation.
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, shell scripting, virtualization, and enterprise server administration.
- Knowledge of STIGs, RMF, and NIST security requirements.
- U.S. Citizenship.
Desired
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or RHCE certification.
- Experience supporting NAVSEA or Department of the Navy.
