Job Overview:
This role serves as a portfolio lead and senior Solution Architect for complex business applications within a large multifamily business environment. The Solution Architect Specialist will define and drive solution architecture, lead highly visible initiatives, and guide teams through transformation into Agile Architecture and modern delivery practices. The position requires deep experience in cloud-native architectures, enterprise-scale solution design, and the practical application of Generative AI and AI/ML to solve real business problems, while partnering closely with business, product, and engineering stakeholders.
Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and oversight for solution architecture across a portfolio of business applications, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategies and objectives.
• Introduce and maintain the overall technical vision for solutions, defining high-level solution intent, target state architectures, and roadmaps for portfolio products.
• Collaborate with Business Architects, Chief Product Owners, Product Owners, CDL, and other business and IT partners to ensure alignment of visions, goals, and objectives.
• Define and create reference architectures and reusable architecture/design patterns to ensure consistent implementation of architecture roadmaps.
• Own and drive the development and maintenance of detailed solution intent and product architecture for assigned ARTs, including information, application, technology, security, and deployment viewpoints.
• Ensure that solution designs address both functional and non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Plan and develop the Architectural Runway to support new business features and capabilities in an Agile environment.
• Identify solution alternatives and evaluate new technologies to meet emerging business needs or address existing challenges such as customer experience, operational efficiency, performance, and cost effectiveness.
• Leverage Generative AI and AI/ML capabilities, within enterprise governance boundaries, to enhance multifamily business capabilities and outcomes.
• Participate in pre-deployment, deployment, and post-deployment activities to ensure successful solution implementation and transition.
• Support incident resolution by assisting with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, issue resolution, and impact assessments.
• Build reference applications and implementations to promote reusability and accelerate adoption of new architectural standards and patterns.
• Develop and maintain an application design pattern catalog to guide consistent solution design across teams.
• Collaborate with Business Architects, Chief Product Owner, Product Owners, and Agile Coaches to ensure robust solution and technical architecture for requirements, features, and initiatives.
• Work closely with Enterprise Architecture and Risk & Security teams to ensure new and existing solutions comply with enterprise standards and governance.
• Partner with business and IT stakeholders to drive product research, RFP processes, vendor interviews, and proof-of-concept activities for COTS solutions in buy decisions.
• Prepare and communicate business and technical cases for architecture and technology approvals through enterprise governance bodies.
• Collaborate with development leads on design brainstorming and design reviews to ensure alignment with established architectures, patterns, and standards.
• Work with ART members to resolve implementation issues across the lifecycle, from requirements and design through coding, testing, and platform integration.
• Stay current with industry trends in Generative AI and AI/ML, and identify practical applications of these technologies to multifamily business problems.
• Act as a transformation champion, promoting modern delivery, Agile Architecture, and cloud-native practices across the organization.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills to influence stakeholders at all levels in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in solutions architecture and business application development.
• Progressive background in software engineering roles such as software developer, DevOps engineer, or technical lead, with strong hands-on application architecture skills.
• Extensive experience with solution architecture patterns including micro-frontends, microservices, and 12-factor applications.
• Prior software development experience with the ability to engage deeply in technical design and implementation discussions.
• 5+ years of relevant task or team management experience, leading technical initiatives or architecture efforts.
• Hands-on and architectural experience with modern cloud-native architectures, with a demonstrable record of leading architects and teams through organizational transformations.
• 3+ years of experience in large-scale enterprise transformation initiatives related to architecture, preferably in complex, regulated environments.
• Experience with Generative AI and AI/ML, including a proven track record of applying these technologies to solve business problems.
• Expertise in solution architecture, platform and security patterns, and GenAI adoption within enterprise governance and approved capabilities.
• Recent experience leveraging enterprise integration patterns, design patterns, and architecture principles in application design.
• Recent experience providing solution architecture for large enterprise applications, with a significant portion of work focused on this responsibility.
• Experience re-platforming large legacy enterprise applications to cloud environments, including a clear role in strategy, design, and execution.
• Prior experience in the primary or secondary mortgage industry is desirable.
• Deep knowledge of widely used enterprise-level platforms and technologies is preferred.
• Highly motivated, energetic self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills, able to operate at high standards of quality and accuracy.
• Superb communication, leadership, and relationship management skills, with the ability to partner with and influence stakeholders in an open, collaborative environment.
• Technical and architectural leadership experience spanning both legacy and modern cloud-based distributed systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to succinctly present complex technical topics and translate technology concepts into business language.
• Comfort working full-time on-site, Monday through Friday, in the specified location as required by the assignment.

Pay Range: $95.00 - $100.00
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
