Key Requirements & Experience

Experience Level: Minimum 4+ years of direct, hands-on experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining SMT manufacturing equipment in a production environment.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Manufacturing Engineering (or an Associate Degree / Technical Diploma in Electro-Mechanical Technology with equivalent years of dedicated SMT repair experience).
Key Roles and Responsibilities
-
SMT Repair & Troubleshooting: Act as the primary hands-on technical lead for diagnosing, repairing, and resolving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and vision system failures on active SMT equipment.

Maintenance & Reliability: Execute hands-on preventive maintenance (PM), component replacements, and machine calibrations to optimize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) on SMT lines and fluidic systems.

Equipment Installation & Qualification: Lead the physical deployment, alignment, mechanical setup, and validation of SMT equipment, automated test systems, and Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs).

Thermal System Management: Perform physical setup, maintenance, and pressure/leak testing of liquid cooling infrastructure, cold plates, and manifold networks for L11 rack-level integration.

NPI & Production Support: Work directly on the shop floor alongside Process Engineering and NPI teams to ensure machine readiness during line bring-up and product transitions.

Spare Parts Management: Maintain physical spare parts inventory (pick-and-place nozzles, feeders, valves, pumps, sensors) and liaise with equipment vendors for hardware escalation.

Continuous Improvement: Perform mechanical retrofits, machine upgrades, and physical process tweaks to enhance throughput, yield, and machine repeatability.

Core Skill Sets

Direct SMT Expertise: 4+ years of proven, hands-on experience performing board-level, mechanical, and component repairs on SMT machinery (e.g., screen printers, pick-and-place, reflow ovens, AOI/SPI).

Electromechanical Repair: Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, and pneumatic diagrams to physically isolate and repair component-level failures.

Automation & Controls: Direct experience working with PLCs, motor drives, encoders, pneumatic actuators, and machine vision sensors.

Data-Driven Problem Solving: Ability to utilize fault codes, machine diagnostic software, and sensor logs to solve chronic equipment breakdowns.

Safety & Compliance: Strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), ESD control standard operating procedures, machine guarding, and chemical/coolant safety guidelines.
