Senior AI Modernization Engineer - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior AI Modernization Engineer for a hybrid position (3 days onsite) with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ, Charlotte, NC, or Jacksonville, FL. This is a potential contract to hire opportunity.

Seeking an AI engineer to design and build AI-powered accelerators, agents, and automation frameworks that modernize enterprise legacy applications and streamline software delivery. This role sits at the intersection of AI, software engineering, and architecture, focusing on transforming technologies like .NET Frameworks, Mainframe, Datastage, and TIBCO into Java, containers, and cloud-native architectures.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build AI-powered accelerators, agents and automation frameworks to modernize enterprise legacy applications
• Streamline software delivery
• Develop RAG solutions, fine tune prompts and agent behavior, and perform token optimization
• Implement guardrails and evaluation frameworks for AI systems

Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in modern programming languages like Python or Java
• 1 year of hands-on experience building Gen AI or Agentic AI solutions
• Experience with Agentic AI and Gen AI (LLMs, RAG, MCP, AI orchestration frameworks)
• Experience developing AI-powered apps using LLMs, RAG and agents
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, container/cloud native development (Kubernetes/Openshift)
• Experience with databases like DB2, SQL server, Oracle, and Sybase
• Knowledge of .Net, TIBCO, ETL and data engineering (Datastage, Databricks etc)
• Understanding of AI governance and security

Desired skills:

• Experience in modernizing legacy platforms such as .Net frameworks, TIBCO, and Mainframe (COBOL/CICS)
• Hands-on experience with .Net or Java for enterprise modernization

Pay range: $60.24 - $68.24 per hour
