Manufacturing Engineer

An established engineering and manufacturing business in Somerset is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join its team. This is a hands-on role focused on developing, improving and optimising manufacturing processes and supporting the wider production operation.

The Role

• Design, develop and improve manufacturing processes
• Optimise manufacturing methods and production processes
• Identify and implement improvements to efficiency, productivity, quality and cost
• Provide practical engineering support to the manufacturing team
• Investigate and resolve manufacturing and process issues
• Work closely with the shop floor to implement improvements
• Develop effective manufacturing methods and solutions
• Support new and existing manufacturing processes

About You

• Manufacturing, Process or Production Engineering experience
• Strong background in one or more areas of machining, manufacturing, fabrication or engineering production
• Practical, hands-on approach to manufacturing and process improvement
• Able to identify and implement improvements across the shop floor
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles
• Candidates who have progressed from a hands-on machining or fabrication background into an engineering position are encouraged to apply
• Broad manufacturing knowledge with strong problem-solving skills
