Vehicle Dynamics CAE Engineer
Location: Foster City, California (Onsite)
Role Overview
This role focuses on Vehicle Dynamics performance. You will work with a team of engineers from diverse backgrounds, including robotics, control, and vehicle engineering. The position involves taking ownership of ride quality, working with physical and virtual testing, and providing direction to various chassis and vehicle integration areas to ensure a responsive and controllable platform.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain high-fidelity multibody vehicle dynamics models using MSC Adams.
  • Collaborate with the design team to help supplier partners improve their ability to deliver components for ride and handling.
  • Generate Suspension, Full Vehicle, and PWT loads as per the process.
  • Develop key vehicle dynamics metrics and targets using physical tests and CAE data.
  • Support performance balancing with other Vehicle Integration Attributes and software controls development.
  • Support active safety performance development and validation to align with automotive industry standards.
  • Correlate simulation results with measurements of the vehicle or subsystems and explore ways to increase simulation accuracy.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is required.
Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience is required, specifically in vehicle dynamics performance development and simulation.
Technical Skills: Experience with vehicle dynamics CAE development tools such as MSC Adams, CarMaker, and Matlab/Simulink is required. Knowledge of Dynamics CAE to Test Correlation and strong analytical skills are also necessary.
