Network Administrator

The Network Administrator will support the implementation, maintenance and upkeep of network security systems. As a Network Administrator your role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house Network WAN, LAN, WLAN, VPN and Network Security systems that support core organizational functions. This includes designing, installing, configuring, administering, and fine-tuning Network components across the organization in a timely and efficient manner. The Network Administrator will be a key contributor to architecture, design, and implementation work as we mature the network security programs, processes, and practices.

This role requires a combination of technical, communication, and soft skills in order to be successful. The network security role requires collaboration with members of the Information Security, IT, Product, and Operations teams. Experience with change management and a focus on customer experience as a key component of measuring success is a must.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems found in Routers, Switches, Wireless Controllers, Access Points, Firewalls, Email and web filters, and other related network devices.
• Design, configure, deploy and maintain interior and perimeter security monitoring devices such as Wireless Authentication, Intrusion Detection, Antivirus Applications, Email filtering and Internet Security.
• Co-lead, coordinate, and participate in key process improvements for all Networks throughout the organization.
• Coordinate with network administrator, systems administrator, business application, and database administration functions to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of the network to meet company objectives.
• Ensure that Network devices comply with established policies, security standards, licensing agreements, and configuration guidelines.
• Monitor and test system performance; provide statistics and reports.
• Conduct research on Network-related hardware and software in support of procurement and system development efforts.
• Review and deploy new firmware, signatures, IOS versions and vendor-supplied patches/ updates according to best practices.
• Ensure that any new network hardware integration into company networks meet functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
• Design, deploy, and maintain cost-effective, resilient WAN, LAN, WLAN, and Voice/Video solutions.
• Analyze, configure, and install corporate network infrastructure, including multi-server environments (IP schemes, DNS, WINS, DHCP, VLAN, QoS, diagrams).
• Troubleshoot network and IT systems, restoring services quickly.
• Ensure network security through policy enforcement, access monitoring, firewalls, VPN/ZTN, and security appliances.
• Manage routers, switches, SD-WAN, network monitoring tools, and PCI compliance practices.
• Maintain network inventory, documentation, diagrams, and Help Desk procedures.
• Perform capacity planning, traffic flow analysis, and recommend upgrades or policy changes.
• Work with third-party vendors and maintain racks, cabling (fiber/copper), and UPS systems.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of Network experience supporting production environments
• Strong familiarity with Network Devices, such as Routers, Switches, Access Points, Firewalls and other related network devices.
• Strong understanding of network subnets, VLANS, routing, topology and design.
• Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies including VPN, web filtering tools, and cloud-based solutions.
• Basic understanding, troubleshooting and deployment capabilities of end-user hardware and software.
• 3+ years of IT systems/application engineering/administration experience
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with network security services including:
• Practical knowledge of PKI, cryptography, and certificates
• Strong understanding of OSI model - all layers
• Strong understanding of Layer-7 protection techniques as relates to network security
• Strong understanding of Network Firewall, SonicWall, Security Groups, and NACLs, Transit Gateway and VPC architectures
