Job Description

Job Title: Marketing Operations Specialist, Patient Engagement (Remote | Telehealth)

Location: Remote - United States

Employment Type: FT W2

Compensation: $35 per hour

CareTalk Health

CareTalk Health is a fully remote, nationwide virtual medical practice. We partner with Medicare Advantage plans to deliver Annual Wellness Visits and close care gaps, reaching members wherever they are. We believe virtual care isn't a compromise — it's care delivered the way patients actually want it. Our job is to make that experience simple, reliable, and human.

A significant portion of scheduled patients do not show for their appointments. We are building a dedicated team to determine why, to test outreach and engagement techniques intended to change it, and to measure what works. The objective of this team is to improve patient show rates.

About the Role

The Marketing Operations Specialist is responsible for building and executing the SMS and email outreach programs that support patient show rate improvement, and for ensuring that every test is executed accurately and as designed.

This role owns campaign build, audience configuration, quality assurance, message deliverability, and the operational integrity of all testing.

What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain pre-appointment SMS and email campaigns, including audience logic, timing, sequencing, and content assembly.

• Configure test and control group assignment according to approved experimental designs, including audience splits, randomization, and holdout groups.

• Maintain suppression and exclusion rules so that overlapping campaigns do not compromise test populations or test validity.

• Perform quality assurance prior to every launch, including seed testing, rendering checks across devices and email clients, link validation, personalization verification, and message formatting.

• Monitor and manage deliverability across SMS and email, including carrier registration, domain authentication, sender reputation, and bounce and complaint rates.

• Track and report delivery performance, distinguishing messages sent from messages successfully delivered.

• Maintain the campaign calendar to prevent conflicts between concurrent tests and routine patient communications.

• Maintain the flow of data between scheduling systems, the messaging platform, and reporting, so that delivery and response data are available for analysis.

• Process opt-outs and consent changes accurately and within required timeframes.

• Ensure all outbound patient communications comply with applicable regulations and organizational policy.

• Document campaign configurations, testing procedures, and operational processes.

• Partner with the Marketing Science Lead and Patient Engagement Analyst to support test design and results reporting.

Required

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 3+ years of experience in marketing operations, campaign operations, or lifecycle marketing.

• Hands-on experience administering an email service provider or multichannel messaging platform, such as Braze, Iterable, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, or Klaviyo.

• Demonstrated experience configuring A/B tests, audience segmentation, and holdout groups.

• Working knowledge of email and SMS deliverability, including SPF, DKIM, DMARC, sender reputation, and carrier registration requirements for SMS.

• Working knowledge of TCPA and CAN-SPAM requirements as they apply to SMS and email programs.

• Strong attention to detail and established quality assurance practices.

• Proficiency in SQL, or demonstrated ability to build and validate audience lists from source data.

Preferred

Healthcare experience is a plus but is not required for this role.

• Experience in healthcare or another regulated industry.

• Experience with a patient engagement or healthcare communication platform, such as Luma Health, Artera, Relatient, or WELL.

• Working knowledge of HIPAA as it applies to patient communications.

• Experience developing communications for older adult or accessibility-sensitive audiences.

• Familiarity with EHR or practice management data.

• Experience supporting a structured testing or experimentation program.

Work Location Requirement

This is a remote U.S.-based position. Employees must perform all work physically within the United States. International work is not permitted during scheduled work hours.
