Job Description

Principal Network Engineer | Chantilly, VA, United States | Hybrid

This employer is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Principal Network Engineer to join their dynamic team. The opportunity is with a reputable organization known for supporting critical missions through advanced technical expertise.

The Role

  • Design, implement, secure, and sustain complex enterprise network environments.
  • Prioritize technical and operational requirements based on project and mission needs.
  • Analyze current workflows and recommend improvements for efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and build complex, highly available network topologies.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 maintenance and engineering support for network and cybersecurity technologies.
  • Develop and implement automation solutions using scripting.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in Network Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux systems, TCP/IP networking, and network security.
  • Experience with multi-vendor network equipment (e.g., Juniper, Palo Alto, F5).
  • Experience with Linux operating systems and scripting for data flows.
  • Ability to create and maintain IT documentation, particularly network and security.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain an IAT Level II (or higher) certification within 6 months.
