About the OpportunityThe Data Manager will provide expertise in data and clinical quality registries, collaborating with ACI networks, the Ministry of Health, Local Health Districts (LHDs), Specialty Health Networks (SHNs), hospitals, and clinicians to drive clinical quality outcomes. Their primary responsibilities include ensuring accurate clinical data registration, developing and maintaining data registries, user guides, and data dictionaries, and supporting data governance, security, and compliance.
Additionally, the Data Manager will perform data pre-processing, identify anomalies, and support clinical decision making by responding to queries at local and state-wide levels. They will also conduct advanced analyses, generate reports, and offer data expertise to support innovations and research in healthcare.
Located at the ACI offices in St Leonards, the Data Manager will occasionally travel across NSW, including rural and metropolitan areas, for site visits, with occasional overnight stays.
Selection Criteria- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or demonstrated experience working with health data, including clinical and outcome data.
- Proficiency in use of R or other statistical software or programming languages, including to clean, structure, and validate data.
- Completion of health projects requiring advanced analytical methods such as statistical modelling.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to partner effectively with internal and external stakeholders (including clinicians), such as influencing and negotiating with stakeholders to access or provide data, support new approaches to data analysis and reporting, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- High level written and verbal communication skills including extensive experience writing data reports and presenting complex analytical concepts and results to different stakeholders (including clinicians) in a format that will assist in informing decisions regarding service quality, evaluation and new approaches to health service delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to train and work with operational and administrative staff to facilitate reliable and accurate data entry at the service level.
- Experience developing and managing large multi-site projects or databases in REDCap
- Experience developing data dashboards for use by stakeholders using PowerBI
- Experience managing data projects and working in multidisciplinary teams
