Job Description

Role Name: Chassis Engineer - #337
Actuators Support development of active suspension and chassis actuator systems for Zoox autonomous vehicles
Location: Foster City, CA - 94404
 
RESPONISBILITIES
  • Design prototype hardware and electromechanical systems using CATIA V6.
  • Generate 2D drawing packages for fabrication and assembly.
  • Evaluate static, dynamic, structural, and thermal-mechanical performance of assemblies.
  • Lead component testing, characterization, and data analysis activities.
  • Work with suppliers to develop, release, and deliver active chassis components.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, assembly, vehicle integration, and operations teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master or PhD preferred.
  • Experience with CATIA V5/V6 and 2D drawings including GD&T;
  • Experience with strut, air spring, and damper design and development.
  • Knowledge of chassis systems, vehicle engineering, and component delivery.
  • Understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, sealing, and electrical systems.
  • Experience in testing and vehicle development.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of automotive release processes and long-term planning.
BONUS
  • Advanced degree.
  • Experience with suspension systems, dampers, and vehicle ride dynamics.
  • Patent awards.
  • CAN and networking experience.
  • Automotive OEM or Tier 1 experience.
  • Experience with Polarion, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Simulink proficiency and hydraulic/pneumatic system modeling
