Senior ServiceNow Developer with Security Clearance

The of Inspector General (OIG), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), provides comprehensive IT services supporting approximately 2,000 global end users across more than 60 locations. OCIO sustains mission-critical IT capabilities including database administration, mobile device management, IT asset management, domain services, network transport, and service desk operations.

The Senior ServiceNow Developer designs, develops, integrates, tests, deploys, and sustains complex ServiceNow capabilities as part of platform modernization, solution delivery, legacy-system retirement, and operational sustainment. This role delivers advanced configurations, custom development, integrations, workflow automation, and technical enhancements aligned with Government requirements and ServiceNow leading practices. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and deploy ServiceNow applications and module enhancements consistent with approved architecture, CSDM/CMDB patterns, cybersecurity requirements, and access models.
• Create business rules, script includes, client scripts, UI policies, UI actions, Flow Designer workflows, IntegrationHub solutions, APIs, custom applications, and portals/workspaces.
• Build and maintain complex REST/SOAP integrations, data flows, and orchestrations.
• Support and enhance CMDB, CSDM, ITSM, ITOM, and other core platform capabilities.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and defect resolution for ServiceNow development work.
• Support release planning, deployment activities, and post-deployment validation.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to ServiceNow leading practices and enterprise architectural standards.
• Maintain technical documentation including designs, configuration records, data flows, and test cases.
• Support Agile delivery by participating in backlog refinement, sprint activities, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, testers, and Government stakeholders to ensure delivered solutions meet approved requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers and team members.
• Support legacy-system retirement through migration planning, data mapping, and workflow transition activities. Qualifications
• Active Secret clearance.
• IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE or equivalent).
• Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of overall software development or IT engineering experience.
• 5+ years of ServiceNow development experience, including scripting, configuration, integrations, and module implementation.
• Strong experience with JavaScript, Glide API, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP integrations, and ServiceNow data structures.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver complex custom applications, workflows, and integrations within the ServiceNow platform.
• Experience supporting enterprise ITSM, ITOM, CSDM/CMDB, or custom platform solutions.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and participation in iterative development cycles.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceNow certifications such as CSA, CAD, CIS-ITSM, CIS-ITOM, Discovery, Service Mapping, or Application Developer.
• Experience supporting federal environments with compliance, security, and governance requirements.
• Experience with platform modernization or legacy-system retirement on ServiceNow.
• Familiarity with secure coding practices, federal cybersecurity controls, and enterprise architecture standards.
• ATF test authoring experience.
