Staff Integration and Test Engineer, Connectivity

Summary

The Staff Integration & Test Engineer, Connectivity is responsible for the integration and testing of connectivity platform products. This role validates system functionality using automated test frameworks, digital twin environments, hardware-in-the-loop simulations, and flight simulation testing. 

The Staff Integration & Test Engineer works collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams and may guide or support other engineers contributing to development and test execution. This role partners closely with Systems and Software Engineering, as well as Product and Product Management teams, to ensure alignment with company priorities, strategic objectives, return on investment goals, and product deployment plans.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead the Integration and Testing of the In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) products for deployment into the field   
• Define and maintain comprehensive test plans for in-flight connectivity systems  
• Develop test strategies covering functional, performance, and reliability aspects  
• Oversee setup, configuration, and calibration of lab equipment for connectivity testing  
• Ensure proper maintenance and readiness of test environments, including hardware and software components  
• Manage Lab Schedule for current and future IFC testing and provide forecast for test environment readiness periodically  
• Execute manual and automated test cases for connectivity systems  
• Document test procedures, results, and defects in accordance with industry standards  
• Maintain traceability between requirements and test cases  
• Use previous test data and release notes to prioritize testing – such as risk-based testing,  
• Provide regular updates on test progress, defect status, and risk assessments.  
• Prepare detailed test reports for stakeholders and management  
• Develop and manage test schedules aligned with project timelines and delivery needs  
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, operations) to ensure timely execution  
• Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts for connectivity systems where applicable  
• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation  
• Ensure testing adheres to aviation standards and regulatory requirements  
• Drive best practices for quality assurance and continuous improvement.  
• Mentor and guide junior test engineers  
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and training sessions on tools and processes  
• Support the key relationships within the organization for execution  
• Support customer visits, sales, and the program office as required 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in a related technical field   
• 10+ years of experience in product development, integration, and field deployment, with a strong focus on system-level integration and testing  
• 7+ years in integration and test lead roles  
• Expertise in system integration practices, verification & validation methods, and structured testing processes for complex hardware/software products  
• Strong understanding of in-flight connectivity systems and protocols  
• Experience with flight connect lab equipment setup, SW Uploads, and simulators  
• Proficiency in test management tools and documentation  
• Working knowledge of automation frameworks  
• Hands-on experience planning, executing, and reporting on integration and test activities in alignment with program schedules  
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing technical test documentation to meet engineering, program, and customer requirements  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues, evaluate root causes, and implement effective solutions  
• Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional and global teams, including engineering, product management, and customer-facing groups  
• Strong communication skills to clearly present test results, participate in customer discussions, and support program reviews  
• Prior aerospace or in-flight connectivity/IFE product experience preferred 

The starting pay range for this position is $130,000 - 146,500 per year however, base pay offered may vary depending on the level of the position, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
