Job Description

SEN / SEND Tutor | Leek, United Kingdom | Hybrid | £28 - £35 per hour

We are hiring for an impactful community organisation dedicated to transforming the lives of young people with special educational needs and disabilities. We partner with schools and local authorities to provide essential support, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

The Role

  • Provide tailored Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND and SEMH needs.
  • Deliver in-person, remote, or hybrid tutoring sessions to students across KS1-KS5.
  • Plan and deliver flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring sessions.
  • Support pupils referred by local authorities and schools to achieve their learning goals.
  • Report on lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress.

What You'll Need

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS).
  • A minimum of 2 years' teaching experience, preferably with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD.
  • Familiarity with teaching English, Maths, and/or Science.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and creating a safe learning environment.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
