Our Foundation School provides an important entry point into Higher Education, supporting students from a wide range of backgrounds as they develop the skills and confidence needed to progress academically and professionally.

About the Role

As a Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and inclusive teaching across our Foundation Year and Foundation Degree programmes, creating an applied learning experience that connects theory with real-world Business and Hospitality practice.

We are particularly interested in lecturers who can teach across:

• Foundation Degree (FdA) Applied Business Management

• Foundation Degree (FdA) Hospitality and Event Management

• Level 3 Foundation Year Business and Hospitality pathways

You will also play an important role in supporting student achievement, progression and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across Levels 3, 4 and 5.

• Provide academic and pastoral support to help students progress and succeed.

• Use practical and experiential teaching approaches that connect learning with industry.

• Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.

• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement.

• Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to enhance the student experience.

• Embed digital tools and technology effectively within teaching and learning.

• Maintain current subject knowledge through scholarly activity, professional practice or research.

About You

We’re looking for enthusiastic, student-focused academics who enjoy making learning practical, accessible and relevant. You’ll be confident supporting students with different levels of academic experience and passionate about helping them develop the skills and confidence to succeed.

Essential Requirements

• A relevant Bachelor’s degree and postgraduate qualification in Business, Hospitality or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• A recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCert or equivalent.

• Experience teaching across Levels 3, 4 and/or 5.

• Experience teaching or supporting students from widening participation backgrounds.

• A strong commitment to inclusive and experiential teaching.

• Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills.

• Confidence using digital learning platforms and tools.

Desirable Requirements

• PhD or equivalent professional standing.

• Fellowship of Advance HE, or currently working towards Fellowship.

• Relevant Business or Hospitality industry experience.

• Strong professional or industry networks that can support student learning and employability.
