Job Description

The QE Governance Lead provides independent quality governance, risk assurance, and release oversight across the Technology Transformation portfolio. This role establishes and governs portfolio-wide QE standards, policies, quality gates, metrics, and controls to ensure consistent, auditable, and risk-managed delivery across all transformation programmes and technology domains.

  • Own the Unified Master Test Strategy, quality engineering standards, policies, and governance frameworks.
  • Establish quality gates, risk controls, and release governance across programmes and delivery portfolios.
  • Ensure traceability, auditability, and compliance throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Provide independent quality assurance oversight across transformation and technology initiatives.
  • Review and challenge programme test strategies, coverage models, quality risks, and readiness assessments.
  • Lead quality health checks, assurance reviews, and governance forums.
  • Support executive Go/No-Go decisions through risk-based quality reporting and assurance recommendations.
  • Define portfolio-wide QE KPIs, dashboards, and reporting standards.
  • Govern measures including defect leakage, test effectiveness, automation coverage, release confidence, and production quality.
  • Deliver quality reporting and insights to senior stakeholders, programme leadership teams, and governance forums.
  • Govern testing practices across functional, integration, end-to-end, data, AI, and non-functional testing disciplines.
  • Ensure consistent defect management, root cause analysis, quality controls, and governance compliance.
  • Maintain alignment across Agile, Product-led, Hybrid, and traditional delivery models.
  • Own Quality Engineering strategy and governance across a diverse technology landscape, including:

    • Digital Customer Experience Platforms
    • Low-Code Development Platforms
    • Enterprise Business Applications
    • CRM and Business Process Platforms
    • Data & Analytics Solutions
    • Cloud-Based Platforms and Services
    • SQL and Data Management Technologies
    • AI and Intelligent Product Ecosystems
    • Business Intelligence and Reporting Platforms
    • API and Integration Platforms
    • Event-Driven Architectures
    • Machine Learning Solutions
    • Intelligent Workflow and Decisioning Platforms
  • Partner with Programme Leads, Product Managers, Architects, Delivery Managers, and Quality Leadership teams.
  • Govern supplier quality performance, testing obligations, and delivery assurance activities.
  • Drive consistent adoption of Quality Engineering standards, governance frameworks, and best practices across programmes.
  • Drive quality maturity, standardisation, and governance improvements across the portfolio.
  • Establish reusable templates, frameworks, dashboards, and assurance artefacts.
  • Promote automation-first, continuous testing, and AI-enabled quality practices.
  • Support the development and growth of Quality Engineering Communities of Practice and Centres of Excellence.
