About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Veteran Product Manager to join an innovative technology business developing robust, scalable software used to support informed, mission-critical decision-making.

This is an exciting opportunity for a military veteran or former service professional with strong product management experience who wants to apply their skills in a technology environment with a genuine national security and defence focus.

You will own a product area, working closely with engineering, product and customer teams to understand user needs, shape priorities and guide products from discovery through to delivery.

The ideal candidate will bring the leadership, operational awareness, structured decision-making and stakeholder management skills often developed through military service, alongside proven commercial product management experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the product roadmap and backlog for your area, ensuring priorities align with customer and business needs.

• Engage directly with customers and users to understand their challenges and translate these into product opportunities.

• Lead product discovery and turn customer needs into clearly defined workstreams and actionable requirements.

• Work closely with engineering teams to define scope, outcomes and realistic delivery milestones.

• Prioritise and deliver focused, valuable increments of work through an iterative approach.

• Set goals for delivery cycles and communicate priorities, progress and changes to stakeholders.

• Maintain a clear product vision and roadmap, explaining decisions and changes in priority.

• Work with colleagues to plan releases and ensure delivered functionality meets customer and business objectives.

• Act as a key point of contact for product-related questions across the organisation.

• Monitor the market, users and relevant competitors to identify opportunities and inform product strategy.

About You

We are particularly interested in hearing from military veterans and former service personnel who have transitioned into product, technology, programme or operational roles.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience as a Product Manager or in a closely related product role.

• Experience delivering measurable outcomes for customers or users.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly to different audiences.

• Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to build trusted relationships with customers and colleagues.

• Experience balancing competing priorities and making sound, evidence-based decisions.

• A structured, proactive approach to problem solving and delivery.

• Experience working autonomously and taking ownership of outcomes.

• Practical understanding of modern product management approaches and iterative delivery.

• An interest in technology and the ability to engage with technical concepts.

• A willingness to learn and develop your product practice.

Particularly Valuable

• Military, Armed Forces, defence or national security experience.

• Experience working in operational, mission-critical or high-consequence environments.

• Understanding of defence, national security or government technology environments.

• Cybersecurity knowledge or experience.

• Experience working within a smaller, entrepreneurial organisation where autonomy and ownership are important.
