Job Description
Responsible for leading a team that performs a range of accounting activities to ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies. This role oversees the preparation and analysis of financial reports, maintains strong internal controls, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. The Finance and Accounting Manager develops processes and procedures to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of accounting operations.
The position collaborates extensively with cross-functional stakeholders and provides guidance, coaching, and performance management for team members. Manage day-to-day operations of the accounting function, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Supervise the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses for management and regulatory purposes. Ensure accounting records are maintained accurately and in compliance with US GAAP and internal policies.
Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and tools, and lead related initiatives. Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors and regulatory agencies. Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management for accounting staff. Collaborate with finance and business partners to support operational and strategic objectives. Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes as needed.
Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives through effective communication that understands the unique needs of different audiences. anticipates and adopts innovations in business, operations, and technology applications. Adapts and pivots in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations, and moves forward productively and optimistically under conditions of change and ambiguity. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, revenue recognition, and regulatory requirements. Ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing accounting teams.
Excellent analytical skills to resolve complex accounting issues. Project management skills to drive improvements and ensure deadlines are met. Strong business acumen and understanding of financial processes. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
~ 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior leadership experience.
~ Demonstrated success managing accounting operations and implementing process improvements. However, we are not able to sponsor visas for this position.
Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Boston Dynamics offers a generous Benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and an annual bonus structure.
