Job Description

Opportunity

Brunswick Group’s Investor Brand practice is recruiting for an Account Director in London.

We are looking for a client-facing account lead with a good grounding in corporate brand and creative work. This would suit an established Senior Account Manager ready to step into an Account Director role, or a recently promoted Account Director. You will independently manage defined projects and client relationships, and support Partners and senior account leads on larger programmes.

Investor Brand has three core engines: Financial Communications, Strategic Events and Corporate Brand. These are underpinned by our Film & Live and Design capabilities. The work is varied, from results, M&A and other significant investor moments to naming, rebrands, employee engagement campaigns, annual and ESG reporting, film, content and live experiences.

The Account Director is part of our wider account management team. The role will often take the day-to-day lead on corporate brand and creative projects, while also supporting account teams across Financial Communications and Strategic Events. You will work closely with Partners, account colleagues, strategists, designers, producers and project managers. The role has no formal line-management responsibility.

About the Role

Client and account leadership

  • Manage day-to-day client relationships on defined corporate brand and other Investor Brand assignments, and support senior account leads on larger programmes.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each client’s business, stakeholder landscape and communications priorities, and use it to inform sound advice.
  • Translate complex or loosely defined client needs into clear briefs, recommendations, decisions and next steps.
  • Run client meetings, stakeholder interviews and workshops, and contribute to more senior presentations and advisory conversations.
  • Manage expectations, feedback and approvals, and raise sensitive or commercial issues with the relevant senior lead early.
  • Operate as an active member of the wider account management team, sharing client intelligence, actions and opportunities and ensuring a joined-up Brunswick experience.

Integrated brand and creative delivery

  • Manage the client and account-management side of defined assignments across Financial Communications, Strategic Events and Corporate Brand, with a particular focus on corporate brand and creative projects.
  • Work across projects including naming, rebrands, employee engagement campaigns, annual and ESG reporting, results, M&A, film and live events.
  • Work with senior account leads and discipline specialists to bring together the right strategy, design, film, live and production expertise.
  • Partner closely with strategy and creative leads to maintain a coherent brief and ensure the work answers the client’s objectives.
  • Work as one team with project management on scopes, plans, budgets, resources, dependencies and risk, with clear ownership throughout.
  • Coordinate work from brief and discovery through creative development, production and delivery, keeping clients and teams aligned.

Commercial development and growth

  • Contribute to proposals, pitch processes and chemistry meetings, and lead defined sections or smaller opportunities where appropriate.
  • Develop scopes, fees and delivery models with Partners, project managers and discipline leads.
  • Track account and project health with the project management team, including scope, revenue, resource use and margin, and flag pressure points early.
  • Support clear client conversations about fees, changes in scope, priorities and delivery trade-offs.
  • Identify organic growth opportunities and connect clients to relevant capabilities across Investor Brand and the wider firm.
  • Contribute to account plans, pipeline development, credentials and wider practice growth initiatives.

Collaboration and practice contribution

  • Build strong relationships across the London account management team, Investor Brand, Brunswick’s advisory teams and the global firm.
  • Create clear working rhythms across multidisciplinary teams so that briefs, feedback, decisions and responsibilities do not drift.
  • Support less experienced colleagues through the work, sharing judgement and raising the standard of client communication without formal line management.
  • Contribute practical ideas, market insight and learning that strengthen our offers and how we take them to clients.

What We’re Looking For

  • A strong track record as a Senior Account Manager ready to step up, or a recently promoted Account Director, in a brand, design, creative or corporate communications agency or consultancy.
  • Experience managing corporate brand and identity assignments, from brief and discovery through creative development and delivery.
  • Exposure to employee engagement, annual and ESG reporting, campaigns, film and content, investor communications or strategic events is highly valuable.
  • Confidence managing day-to-day client relationships, with the judgement to know when to involve Partners, senior account leads and specialists.
  • A practical understanding of brand strategy, narrative, architecture and identity, and the ability to partner effectively with specialist strategists and creatives.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary projects or substantial workstreams and keeping both clients and teams aligned.
  • Good commercial awareness, including experience of scopes, fees, budgets, change control and margin.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposals, briefs, presentations and clear client advice.
  • A collaborative, low-ego working style and a commitment to shared account ownership.
  • Experience in a leading agency environment, or with listed and high-profile organisations, is desirable but not essential.
