Job Description
About Us
Lupa is building a category defining product the industry has never seen before.
We are the AI-native operating system for veterinary practices and pet parents, replacing the fragmented, clunky systems vets have tolerated for years with a single intelligent platform for scheduling, client communication, clinical documentation, and AI-driven care guidance. Practices run more efficiently, vets get back to doing what they love, and pet parents feel more connected to their animals health than ever.
The traction speaks for itself: one of Europe's top 100 AI startups with a team of 50 people, 10x growth in twelve months, the UK market leader, and now charging hard into the US and Europe. We have $25M in funding, 2.5M+ pets on the platform, and a buzzing HQ in Paddington, London.
This is a rare chance to join a rocket ship at exactly the right moment and we are looking for exceptional people to help us fly it.
In this role, you will:
Own the end to end testing process for your product area alongside dev, from drafting BDD scenarios and acceptance criteria all the way through to release
Decide what gets automated and build it. You are not waiting to be told what needs a test, you are making that call yourself
Review AI drafted tests and catch flaky tests or visual regressions before they reach merge
Run smoke tests and exploratory testing at release and be accountable for releases going out smoothly, not just for finding bugs
Work directly with engineers from the start of a feature, not at the end when problems are harder to fix
Help shape how the QE function works as we build it from scratch. Early hires leave fingerprints here
Your background looks something like:
1 to 3 years of experience in a QE, SDET, or software engineering role, or a strong recent graduate with real coding experience under your belt
Comfortable owning both manual and automated testing end to end
Hands on experience with Playwright for test automation and TypeScript
Confident writing BDD style scenarios from acceptance criteria
Genuinely AI fluent. You use AI tools day to day, have opinions on where they help and where they fall short, and know how to review AI generated output critically
Mobile automation experience (nice to have)
As a person, you:
Are proactive by nature. You see what is not working and fix it before being asked
Like to innovate and try new things. You are not looking to execute someone else's process, you want to help build the right one
Take real ownership of what you ship. A release going out smoothly matters to you personally, not just as a task
Thrive with genuine autonomy and are energised by the space to make decisions rather than slowed down by it
Are excited to work in person from our Paddington, London HQ
Value working with people who are kind, ambitious, and pragmatic
What does success look like in 6 months?
You own the end to end testing process for at least one product area independently, working directly with dev rather than waiting to be looped in
Releases you are responsible for go out smoothly and the team trusts you to make the call on what needs testing and automating without being told
You are actively contributing to moving the automation percentage up and your fingerprints are already on how the QE function works
