StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a Customer Quality Engineer to join a top-tier producer of high-performance paints and coatings engineered for the global automotive market. This is an on-site role in Oak Creek, WI, and relocation assistance is available.
In this high-visibility, customer-facing position, the Customer Quality Engineer owns customer quality requirements and drives issue resolution across every stage of the product lifecycle. Serving as the main link between automotive customers and internal manufacturing, engineering and commercial groups, you will direct root cause investigations, corrective and preventive measures, complaint handling and quality improvement efforts that keep product and process performance at a consistently high level. The role reports into the plant's Quality Assurance Site Manager.
It's a strong fit for a seasoned automotive quality professional who wants to own a critical function, work side by side with customers and senior leaders, and elevate customer satisfaction, manufacturing results, product quality and continuous improvement plantwide.
What You'll Do
- Lead customer quality issues to closure, from containment through root cause analysis and corrective action
- Resolve customer claims and complaints through proven quality problem-solving methods
- Serve as the escalation point for critical and high-severity quality concerns
- Verify that every root cause is backed by evidence and every corrective action holds up long term
- Brief customers clearly on open issues, risk exposure and the path to resolution
- Spearhead customer audits in partnership with the Quality Assurance Manager
- Cultivate trusted relationships with customers' plant-level, quality and engineering teams
- Anticipate emerging quality risks and coordinate preventive measures before they reach the customer
- Translate customer-specific requirements into internal processes and practices
- Uphold IATF standards along with APQP, FMEA, LPA and in-house quality expectations
- Collaborate across Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Supply Chain, Planning, Sales, Customer Service, Technical Laboratories and Continuous Improvement
- Drive measurable gains in customer satisfaction and overall quality performance

- Ability to balance several priorities at once in a fast-moving setting
- Comfort working across office and manufacturing floor settings, with roughly 10–15% travel to customer or supplier sites
