Job Description

This is a direct hire role with a strong comp package up to $190K, hybrid flexibility out of the DC/Arlington area, and a chance to join a team that's genuinely doing cutting-edge work — not just talking about it.  This team also has openings for DevOps/DevSecOps Engineers, Agentic AI Machine Learning Engineers, and Cyber Machine Learning Engineers!

Role Overview:
This team sits within a National Security-focused Disruption Cell at one of the country's premier defense and technology consulting firms. They build proprietary AI and cyber products — from the ground up — and deliver them to commercial and federal clients. Right now they're deep in agentic AI, counter-AI defensive cyber, and ML-driven threat solutions. Think agent blueprints, reusable agentic frameworks, and real-time ML models built to detect and block emerging AI-based threats. As a Systems Integration Engineer, you'd be the forward-deployed technical force connecting these products into client environments — owning integrations end-to-end, not inheriting someone else's half-finished work.

Role Highlights:

  • Position: Systems Integration Engineer
  • Location: Arlington, VA / Washington, DC (Hybrid — ~2 days/week in office)
  • Job Type: Direct Hire — Full-Time
  • Compensation: $150,000 – $190,000 (based on experience, top of band reserved for elite candidates)
  • Clearance: Clearable candidates welcome — work begins while clearance is processing
  • Interview Process: 30-min technical screen, then a 1.5–2-hour panel interview & offer within 24 hours

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own API integrations end-to-end — REST, webhooks, and authentication flows
  • Build prototype applications in Python or Go to validate and deliver integration approaches
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
  • Troubleshoot distributed systems across logs, metrics, and integration layers
  • Operate in AWS (primary) and other major cloud environments in a production capacity
  • Serve as a forward-deployed engineer — taking internal products and integrating them into client environments

Technical Skills:

  • API integrations — REST, webhooks, authentication flows
  • Python or Go for application and prototype development
  • CI/CD pipeline design and implementation
  • Cloud production environments — AWS preferred, Azure/GCP welcome
  • Distributed systems troubleshooting

Key Requirements:

  • 3+ years navigating complex customer environments and implementing requirements
  • 2+ years of API integration experience
  • 2+ years building applications in Python or Go
  • 1+ year CI/CD pipeline experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot across distributed systems, including logs, metrics, and debugging integration issues
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance — US Citizenship required
  • Bachelor's degree required (exceptions considered for exceptional candidates)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in a Solutions Engineer or Implementation Engineer capacity
  • Infrastructure-as-Code — Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi
  • Identity providers and auth protocols — Okta, Auth0, Azure AD, OAuth2, SAML, OIDC
  • Event-driven architectures — Kafka, SNS/SQS, Pub/Sub
  • Networking fundamentals — DNS, TLS, load balancing, firewalls
