The Parts Counter Associate 2nd Shift is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the daily operations of the parts department. This role assists customers and service technicians by identifying, sourcing, and selling the correct parts and accessories efficiently and accurately. Success in this position requires strong product knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and customer-focused environment. The shift runs from 1pm to 10pm Monday - Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
Parts Sales & Operations
Provide parts support to service technicians to ensure efficient workflow
Accurately process all sales transactions, including cash, credit, and check payments
Handle core returns, warranties, and merchandise returns in accordance with dealership procedures
Maintain accurate records of all transactions and inventory movement
Verify incoming shipments and receiving documentation
Follow up on parts shortages and communicate with the Parts Manager to expedite orders
Support merchandising efforts to ensure parts are properly displayed and stocked
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts department
Utilize dealership tools and systems safely and effectively
Attend training to stay current on products, systems, and procedures
Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills & Abilities
Computer proficiency and ability to learn dealership systems
Attention to detail and accuracy in transactions and inventory handling
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and follow company policies, procedures, and established protocols
Problem-solving skills and a team-oriented mindset
Basic automotive knowledge or willingness to learn
Valid Driver License and clean driving record
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required
2+ years’ experience in dealership or parts counter work
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
