Now hiring for a Turret Set Up Technician
Location: Plano, TX
Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour
Schedule: 1st Shift Mon-Fri, sometimes Saturdays, Need to be available as early as 6am and as late as 6pm

Job Duties

  • Set up and operate Amada CNC turret punch press equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Load and position sheet metal parts according to production requirements and nesting layouts.

  • Perform punch operations and verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.

  • Adjust tooling, dies, and shims to maintain product quality and specifications.

  • Transfer CNC programs, perform program edits, and optimize machine performance.

  • Organize completed parts by work order and routing instructions.

  • Monitor punch and die wear, maintain tooling inventory, and perform preventative maintenance.

  • Accurately record production data, labor hours, setup changes, and completed work orders.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while meeting production goals.


Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Technical training or manufacturing education is beneficial.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required.Basic math and measurement skills required.

  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems (SAP preferred).

  • Understanding of manufacturing safety procedures and quality standards.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing documentation.


Experience Requirements

  • Experience operating manufacturing or production equipment.

  • Ability to read work instructions, production schedules, and basic technical documentation.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to monitor equipment for proper operation.

  • Ability to perform quality inspections and maintain production standards.

  • Commitment to workplace safety, attention to detail, and dependable attendance.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience setting up and operating Amada CNC Turret Punch Press equipment.

  • Experience loading and positioning sheet metal according to nesting layouts and work instructions.

  • Ability to adjust tooling, dies, and shims to meet production specifications.

  • Experience editing and optimizing CNC programs to improve efficiency and material utilization.

  • Proficient with precision measuring tools and dimensional inspections.

  • Experience transferring programs to machines and downloading prints for inspections.

  • Knowledge of punch tooling maintenance, die wear monitoring, and preventative machine maintenance.

  • Willingness to cross-train and support additional machine operations as needed.


Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.

  • Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment while maintaining awareness of moving machinery.

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work safely in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to pounds.

  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

  • Ability to distinguish colors and perform detailed visual inspections.

  • Must be able to wear all required PPE and work safely in a manufacturing environment
