Overview The Senior Expert is a key leadership role in our Professional Services team and will help implement innovative software solutions for energy companies across Australia and around the world. The Senior Expert will be responsible for leading, planning, designing, deploying, and innovating on technical services for customers as part of provide implementing proprietary software solutions to best fit customer needs. They will develop mastery & facilitate improvements of Quorum application installations and upgrades, infrastructure management, custom enhancements, and efficient infrastructure maintenance.
Senior Experts have strong technical and leadership skills, good communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of the oil & gas industry with at least one specific focus/interest such as hydrocarbon management, gas scheduling, dispatching, or sales and revenue, and have an aptitude for solving problems. They are experienced in leading and mentoring technical teams, coordinating across disciplines, and driving fit-for-purpose solutions that meet both customer and commercial objectives.
The individual should have a strong desire for continuous learning and growth of technical skills, with the aspiration to leverage these skills to provide a positive experience for internal and external customers.

Responsibilities Provide technical leadership for project implementation services projects:
- Lead a team of up to 15 solution consultants to deliver new application implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and other technical or consultancy services for enterprise software customers, often with complex and highly customized solutions
- Lead technical teams and initiatives focused on overall architecture for high level design, detailed design, development, configuration, deployment, integration, testing and support of Quorum's business software applications.
- Align with Project & Resource Management on the direction of resources to achieve required project, support, and pre-sales outcomes.
- Leverage and develop technical skills relevant to delivery (such as PLSQL, Restful JSON API configuration, AWS DevOps Pipelines and Java debugging), and align customer Oil & Gas, technical, and infrastructure teams to Quorum requirements that facilitate agreed delivery schedules and quality standards
- Manage many ongoing customer commitments and balance priorities across projects on independent schedules, ensuring successful completion of project-level goals.
- Demonstrate technical, product, and Oil & Gas expertise in customer conversations while representing Quorum positively.
- Mentor junior and intermediate team members towards mastery of technical skills and ownership of high-quality, timely work
- Collaborate with leaders across other departments to plan and execute improvements to software implementation and configuration tools, processes, and documentation.
- Develop a mastery of Quorum's architecture systems, integration platform capabilities, and software development lifecycle processes.
- Understanding client usage and workflow characteristic for specified accounts
- Work with clients to become a "trusted advisor" on their internal processes across EC modules, including hydrocarbon management, gas scheduling/dispatching, sales and revenue, and other relevant functional areas.
- Project documentation and oversight of both internal and client standards and best practice workflows
- Work with Product Management to ensure clients expectations and plans are aligned with the development timeline.
- Maintain industry, market, and product knowledge, as well as, stay abreast of competitor's products, technology and offerings. Further, maintain knowledge of appropriate technology evolution.
- Pro-actively share within the wider Quorum team the key knowledge learned with customers.
- Participate in client meetings, providing the technical expertise as needed
- Identify opportunities in customers
- Help to define the value proposition for the client
- Develop responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) as required by the RFP lead
- Deliver consistent high quality software demonstrations to clients as needed
- Be proficient in our solutions and identify key benefits for target audience
- Prepare client tailored demonstrations in advance, including meeting or talking with the client prior to any presentation
- Direct management of team members, including performance and development oversight
- Bachelor's degree in technology, engineering, business, or related discipline that has an analytical component
- 7+ years of related experience in solution architecture, software development and/or business consulting
- 5+ years of oil & gas industry experience or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of experience with Energy Components or similar Hydrocarbon accounting/Production Management tools.
- Experience working with customers and software users to gather business and technical requirements and deploy efficient, high-quality solutions
- Good knowledge of general oil & gas downstream processes and workflows
- Experience in mapping out client workflows and comparing to best practices
- Experience leading a medium to large team (8+ people), mentoring colleagues of various experience levels, and managing end-to-end work deliverables
- Strong technical aptitude and understanding of technology
- Strong database skills (SQL) such as writing functions/procedures, converting and managing large sets of data, configuring application features, and troubleshooting issues
- Strong programming skills (Java and/or other computer programming languages)
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and/or systems architecture
- Proficient using technical business systems; e.g. Microsoft Office
- Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical skills, desire for continuous learning
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills and a professional demeanor
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence to conduct discussions with prospects or customers in both technical and senior management roles
- Ability to meet with customers and prospects in order to help advance the sales cycle
- Results Oriented
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required to support customer engagements and project delivery
- Excellent knowledge of the Quorum software suite particularly of Energy Components.
- Experience working with Cloud-based solutions, Cloud/SaaS project delivery model, DevOps deployments, and/or infrastructure management.
- Demonstrated technical prowess including solving complex problems, programming skills (SQL, Git, C++/C#, Java, VB and/or other computer programming languages), and familiarity/understanding of systems architecture.
- Experience in management of software development efforts.
