Are you an experienced recruitment professional with a background in Office, Professional or Commercial recruitment? Are you passionate about building relationships, winning new business and growing a successful temporary recruitment desk?
We are looking for an ambitious Temporary Office & Professional Recruitment Consultant to join our Birmingham City Centre / Hagley Road office and play a key role in the continued growth of our Temporary Office & Professional division across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a growing temporary desk, develop existing relationships, win new clients and build a strong network of temporary candidates.
The Role You'll be responsible for developing and growing our temporary Office & Professional recruitment offering across Birmingham and the West Midlands.
The role will cover a broad range of temporary positions, including Administrators, Receptionists, Customer Service, Secretarial, PA/EA, Sales Support, Finance, HR and other commercial office-based roles.
You'll work with existing clients to understand their temporary recruitment requirements while proactively identifying and winning new business opportunities.
A key part of the role will be business development, including cold calling, networking, client meetings and building new relationships with businesses across the region.
You'll also take ownership of candidate attraction and management, ensuring you have a strong pool of reliable, quality temporary candidates available to meet client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of and grow the Temporary Office & Professional recruitment desk.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
• Identify and win new business across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.
• Make proactive sales calls and cold approaches to prospective clients.
• Arrange client visits, meetings and business development activity.
• Understand and manage clients' temporary recruitment requirements.
• Source, interview and place candidates into temporary Office & Professional positions.
• Build and maintain a strong database of reliable temporary candidates.
• Manage temporary workers throughout their assignments and maintain strong engagement.
• Handle bookings, timesheets and day-to-day temporary workforce requirements.
• Build long-term relationships with clients and candidates.
• Identify opportunities to increase business within existing accounts.
• Maintain a high level of compliance across all temporary placements.
• Resolve client and candidate issues quickly and professionally.
• Work towards and exceed individual and team sales targets and KPIs.
• Contribute to the continued growth of the Birmingham temporary division.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience within temporary recruitment, ideally across Office, Professional, Commercial or Business Support recruitment.
• A strong understanding of the temporary recruitment market.
• Experience managing client relationships and developing new business.
• Confidence making cold calls and proactively approaching new clients.
• A genuine sales mentality with the ability to identify and convert opportunities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple clients, candidates and vacancies.
• Resilient, self-motivated and commercially driven.
• Comfortable working towards targets and KPIs.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive approach to business development and candidate management.
• Full UK driving licence required.
