The CES Market Operations Center (MOC) remotely schedules, monitors, dispatches, and controls more than 550 power generation assets, including hydro, wind, solar, energy storage, natural gas, and other conventional generation resources. With more than 32,000 MW under management, the MOC provides around-the-clock operational support across multiple U.S. energy markets.
CES is expanding its Market and Generation Dispatcher team to support the continued growth of our Market Operations Center and GridBOOST energy market scheduling and optimization platform.
In this role, you will help coordinate energy market scheduling, monitor generation and storage assets, support dispatch activities, and respond to changing market and operating conditions. The position requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, 24/7 operating environment. This position works a rotating 12-hour DuPont schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Candidates should have 3β5 years of experience in the energy industry, with experience in CAISO, ERCOT, ISO-NE, MISO, SPP, or PJM preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Submit Real-Time and Day-Ahead energy bids and offers in accordance with applicable ISO/RTO market timelines and requirements.
- Monitor the operation and performance of utility-scale battery storage facilities, wind turbines, hydroelectric facilities, solar assets, and other generation resources.
- Monitor and support the economic dispatch of generation and storage assets.
- Coordinate planned, unplanned, and emergency outage notifications.
- Monitor asset availability, operating conditions, alarms, and performance through SCADA, EMS, and other operational systems.
- Respond to changing system, market, and asset conditions while following established procedures and escalation protocols.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate maintenance activities and address operational issues.
- Use monitoring tools and software to analyze performance data and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate operating records and documentation.
- Participate in training, continuing education, and knowledge-sharing activities to remain current on market rules, operating practices, and industry developments.
- 3β5 years of experience in the energy sector preferred, particularly within CAISO, ERCOT, ISO-NE, MISO, SPP, or PJM.
- Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- PJM or NERC Operator Certification preferred. CES is willing to provide training and certification support where appropriate. Individuals in certified roles must maintain required credentials through continuing education and/or recertification.
- Experience working in a control room, market operations, generation operations, dispatch, or similar environment preferred.
- Experience monitoring GE, Siemens, PI, or other generation SCADA/EMS systems preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail, including during time-sensitive or high-pressure situations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of common computer applications, including email, web-based systems, Microsoft Excel, and data-entry applications.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take accountability for assigned responsibilities.
- Ability and willingness to work a rotating 12-hour DuPont schedule providing 24/7 coverage, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
