Job Description

Job Title: Network Engineer

Location: Memphis, TN | Hybrid, 3 days onsite / 2 days remote

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support a production enterprise network environment. This role is responsible for the stability, performance, security, and reliability of data, voice, video, and wireless network services.

The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching, Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama, and F5 load-balancing technologies. This position requires someone who can independently troubleshoot complex network issues, analyze traffic and performance, implement network changes, and maintain accurate technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Implement, configure, maintain, support, and troubleshoot enterprise LAN, WAN, and wireless network infrastructure.

Configure and support Cisco routing and switching technologies in a production environment.

Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama, including network traffic, connectivity, and security-policy issues.

Support and troubleshoot F5 load-balancing technologies, including LTM, GTM, and iRules.

Monitor network availability, connectivity, traffic, and performance and investigate issues through resolution or appropriate escalation.

Analyze end-to-end network traffic paths across switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, servers, endpoints, and other connected infrastructure.

Use network automation and scripting technologies such as NetBrain, Ansible, Python, and YAML to improve configuration, validation, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency.

Perform network hardware and software installations, upgrades, configuration changes, maintenance, and optimization.

Collaborate with technical teams to evaluate network requirements, capacity needs, performance concerns, and infrastructure improvements.

Support network security solutions and help maintain appropriate network availability, reliability, and security.

Create and maintain network documentation, including configurations, network maps, procedures, service records, technical specifications, and equipment inventories.

Develop and maintain procedures related to network administration, operational support, and disaster recovery.

Research network technologies, products, protocols, and standards and provide technical recommendations when appropriate.

Work with vendors, service providers, and technical teams to investigate and resolve network-related issues.

Provide network performance statistics, technical documentation, and knowledge transfer as needed.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on enterprise network engineering experience.

Strong hands-on expertise with Cisco routing and switching.

Hands-on production experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama.

Hands-on experience with F5 load balancing, including LTM, GTM, and iRules.

Experience troubleshooting complex network connectivity, traffic-flow, hardware, software, and performance issues.

Experience with network automation tools such as NetBrain and/or Ansible.

Experience with scripting and configuration technologies such as Python and YAML.

Familiarity with enterprise network monitoring tools and network performance analysis.

Ability to systematically troubleshoot across multiple network layers and technologies to identify root causes and resolve issues.

Ability to independently investigate technical problems and drive them toward resolution.

Strong network documentation and technical communication skills.

Demonstrated personal, hands-on experience configuring, supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise network technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

CCNP or equivalent networking certification.

Experience with cloud networking.

Experience with SD-WAN.

Experience applying automation to network configuration, validation, monitoring, or troubleshooting.
