Job Title: Java Developer with Azure

Location: Alexandria, VA

Duration: 6 Months + Extension

Bill Rate: $87/hour

Job Type: C2C Contract

Job Description

  • Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and microservices.

  • Expertise in REST APIs, object-oriented programming, design patterns, multithreading, and asynchronous processing.

  • Experience with SQL Server/PostgreSQL, JSON, XML, WebSockets, and third-party API integrations.

  • Hands-on experience with Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Container Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Storage, Key Vault, and Azure Monitor.

  • Knowledge of Azure networking, API Management, Entra ID, and Application Insights.

  • Experience with Git, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions, Maven/Gradle, and Docker.

  • Strong troubleshooting, performance optimization, automated testing, and production support skills.

  • Azure, Java, or cloud technology certification is required.

  • Experience in transit, transportation, public-sector, or government projects.

  • Basic knowledge of OpenTripPlanner (OTP), GTFS, and GTFS-Realtime.

  • Understanding of cloud security, high availability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization.

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based cloud applications.

  • Build REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise system integrations.

  • Deploy and support applications on Microsoft Azure.

  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release management.

  • Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.

  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and technical teams.

  • Support real-time data integrations and transit-related applications.
