Senior Software Engineer (Video Streaming Engineer)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimize advanced video streaming and processing solutions. In this role, you will contribute to the development of scalable, reliable, and high-performance video services that support innovative technology products. You will work across the full software development lifecycle, from system architecture and implementation to testing, monitoring, and continuous improvement. You will have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, explore emerging technologies, and build robust streaming infrastructure. Working alongside a collaborative and technically driven engineering team, you will help deliver seamless video experiences while ensuring system resilience and performance. Accountabilities:

Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions and product features.
Build and implement video streaming and video processing services to support existing and future product capabilities.
Develop and maintain scalable video pipelines, ensuring reliable and efficient content delivery.
Define and implement performance metrics to monitor streaming quality, system reliability, and overall user experience.
Participate in technical architecture discussions and design reviews, recommending appropriate technologies and engineering approaches.
Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and promote best practices in code quality, maintainability, testing, and efficiency.
Maintain and improve production infrastructure, ensuring high availability, redundancy, and resilience.
Identify opportunities to improve existing systems by evaluating emerging technologies, tools, and industry developments.
Collaborate with engineering colleagues and stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with business and user needs.
Requirements:
At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience, with strong expertise in at least one general-purpose programming language such as Node.js, Python, Rust, C, or C++.
Hands-on experience designing and developing REST APIs.
Strong understanding of video streaming protocols, including RTMP, RTSP, RTP, HLS, WebRTC, and DASH.
Knowledge of video and audio codecs such as AAC, Opus, H.264, H.265, VP8, VP9, and AV1.
Solid experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including database design and optimization.
Practical experience working with AWS, Linux, Docker, and continuous deployment workflows.
Familiarity with multimedia processing libraries and frameworks such as FFmpeg, GStreamer, libvpx, x264, or x265 is a strong advantage.
Experience developing video processing pipelines incorporating AI inference for computer vision is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams.
