Quick Overview
Job Description
Managing Director, Forensic Accounting
Business Unit Leader | United States
About Infinity Constellation
Professional services firms have historically grown by adding headcount: more analysts, associates, and support staff to serve more clients. Infinity Constellation is built on a different thesis. A small team, led by an outstanding credentialed practitioner and paired with an AI backbone that handles everything else, can now do what used to take dozens of people.
We are building independent, high-margin business units (BUs) inside a single company. Each unit is built around one or two core people and supported by Infinity's technology platform and our engineering and product teams, which take over HR, accounting, finance, and data-processing work. The practitioner keeps selling the same service, to the same buyers, at the same or better quality, but serves far more clients per person.
Forensic accounting is one of our three founding verticals, and we consider it one of our strongest bets.
The Role
We are looking for a Managing Director to found and lead Infinity's Forensic Accounting business unit. You will be the credentialed expert whose name stands behind the work, and the relationship-holder whom referring attorneys follow. You will build a practice that carries a much larger caseload per practitioner than a traditional firm, with Infinity building the tools that remove manual work from your week.
This is an entrepreneurial role with real upside: you shape the service offering, the team, and the tooling roadmap, and you share directly in the value you create.
About the Practice
Forensic accounting sits at the intersection of accounting and litigation: investigating financial records and telling the story of what happened for attorneys, courts, and clients. The work often includes business valuation for a sale, a divorce settlement, or a dispute. Engagements typically come through long-standing referral relationships with attorneys, and a single practitioner may actively manage a dozen or more matters at once.
The bottleneck in this field is manual. Practitioners often re-key bank statements and credit card records by hand because existing document-ingestion tools are unreliable, and software that works well is priced for large firms only. Infinity is building the tools to close that gap.
What You Will Do
Lead the business unit: Run the Forensic Accounting BU end to end, including strategy, client relationships, quality, and financial performance.
Originate and grow the book: Bring your existing attorney relationships and referral network to Infinity, and expand them into new engagements across forensic investigation and business valuation.
Deliver and sign off on expert work: Handle the analysis, strategy, and judgment calls on your matters, and put your name behind the work, including expert reports and testimony where required.
Direct the tooling: Work with Infinity's engineering and product teams to define what automation should do, including turning discovery documents, bank records, and financial statements into structured data, and templated report generation.
Set the quality bar: Define what a defensible, court-ready work product looks like, and review and validate AI-assisted output before it goes to a client.
Build the team: Hire and develop supporting staff as caseload grows, keeping the team deliberately lean.
Collaborate across Infinity: Partner with other business unit leaders on cross-selling to shared clients as the portfolio grows.
What We're Looking For
Credential and experience: A credentialed forensic accounting practitioner with deep experience delivering litigation support, fraud and financial investigation, and/or business valuation, with expert-witness experience.
A portable book of business: Genuine, existing relationships with referring attorneys who will follow you, or the credibility to build that book quickly.
Senior practitioner or already independent: Either a senior non-partner deep in delivering the service today and ready to build a practice with real upside rather than wait for a partnership track, or a practitioner who has already gone independent and wants to be super-powered by Infinity: the backbone, tooling, and capital to carry far more work without rebuilding a firm around yourself.
Frustrated by the pace of your current firm: You see how much of your week goes to work that doesn't require your judgment, and you want to change that.
A point of view on automation: You know exactly which parts of the work (data entry, document review, report assembly) should move to an AI-driven workflow first.
Entrepreneurial mindset: Comfortable building a practice from the ground up, and energized by the idea of rebuilding the firm itself rather than building software to sell to existing firms.
Location: Based in the United States. Our business units currently serve US clients only.
Compensation
Compensation follows the same structure across all Infinity business units:
Market base salary
Uncapped variable compensation tied to revenue generated
An equity grant in Infinity
Why Infinity
Real upside: build and lead a business unit with compensation tied directly to your results, including uncapped variable pay and an equity grant in Infinity.
A shared backbone: HR, accounting, finance, and data-processing work handled by Infinity's platform and teams, so your time goes to clients and judgment.
Tools built for your practice: engineering and product resources dedicated to the problems that cost you time today.
A growing network: as Infinity scales its portfolio of business units, you'll be part of a larger network of practices serving overlapping clients.
