Senior Electrical Engineer

ALink Recruitment are working with an engineering consultancy that are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to provide technical support to a rail consultancy.<br />The requirement is for someone with strong electrical engineering knowledge who can act as a senior technical point of contact, providing advice, reviewing and checking designs, answering technical queries and supporting discussions with clients.You would be undertaking cable calculations using Amtech.<br />Key Responsibilities

• Review and check electrical designs and engineering deliverables.
• Provide senior-level technical advice and guidance.
• Respond to technical queries and help resolve unusual or complex electrical engineering issues.
• Review designs for compliance with relevant TfL, rail and electrical engineering standards.
• Provide input on LV distribution, lighting and controls, cable management, earthing &amp; bonding and associated electrical systems.
• Liaise directly with clients and confidently explain or defend technical decisions.
• Provide pragmatic solutions where engineering or design issues arise.
• Support projects as required, with workload varying depending on client and project demands.<br />Experience Required
• Strong background in electrical engineering within the UK rail industry.
• Extensive TfL experience and knowledge.
• Strong understanding of TfL engineering standards, specifications and processes, including TfL Pathway.
• Ability to independently review, interrogate and challenge electrical designs.
• Broad technical knowledge across rail/building-services electrical systems.
• Comfortable dealing directly with clients and answering technical queries.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ideally Chartered or working at an equivalent senior/technical authority level
