What's In Store For You

• Take ownership of an established team of Solution Architects.
• Operate in a highly visible technical leadership position with exposure to both business and technology stakeholders.
• Influence architecture decisions without being expected to personally own every technical design.
• Lead and develop approximately six direct reports.
• Work closely with software engineering, Solutions Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, and business teams.
• Onsite four days per week.

How You Will Make An Impact

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Solution Architects supporting multiple technology initiatives.
• Ensure projects receive the appropriate architecture support and that resources are effectively balanced across competing priorities.
• Remove roadblocks that prevent architects and project teams from progressing.
• Review proposed solution approaches and challenge technical decisions when additional analysis is necessary.
• Identify architectural concerns that require escalation or partnership with Enterprise Architecture.
• Build a collaborative team environment where architects share expertise, provide backup, and support one another across initiatives.
• Maintain visibility into ongoing projects and communicate effectively with technical leaders, business stakeholders, and architecture partners.
• Apply a strong understanding of software engineering and systems architecture when evaluating technical direction.
• Help the organization navigate evolving architecture practices, including the growing influence of AI on software development and solution design.

Do you have the expertise to lead in technical architecture and software engineering?

• Proven people-management experience leading technical professionals or software development teams is required.
• Previous experience as a software developer or software engineer is essential to establishing the technical foundation expected for this position.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, software development, systems, and technical solution design.
• Solutions Architecture experience is strongly preferred, although experienced software engineering managers with significant solutioning and architecture exposure may also qualify.
• Ability to review technical proposals, ask meaningful architecture questions, and determine when concerns require escalation.
• Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to participate credibly in technical architecture discussions.
• Strong coaching, resource-management, communication, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
• Experience developing collaborative technical teams and removing organizational or project-level blockers.
• Awareness of modern AI capabilities and their impact on application development and architecture.
• Established management experience is required; this position is intended for an experienced people leader rather than a first-time manager.
