Responsibilities
As an Enterprise SharePoint Platform Engineer, you will oversee the core backend infrastructure, platform reliability, and hybrid connectivity across both on-premises SharePoint Server farms and Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online environments. Operating at the platform infrastructure layer rather than application-level development, this role is responsible for farm topology, service application configurations, hybrid authentication flows, and system integration pipelines.

You will optimize platform performance, maintain farm health, manage storage and capacity allocations, and lead technical lifecycle initiatives such as version migrations, security patching, and automated provisioning via PowerShell. Partnering across cloud, network, identity, and security engineering teams, you will establish a high-availability, secure, and resilient platform substrate that enables organizational productivity and enterprise content services. Requirements

• Proven experience engineering and maintaining enterprise-grade SharePoint environments.
• Practical experience supporting SharePoint Server (on-premises) or SharePoint Online (M365).
• Solid grasp of SharePoint farm components, service applications, permissions structures, and platform dependencies.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across authentication protocols, connectivity bottlenecks, and platform performance issues.
• Foundational knowledge of Windows Server OS, Active Directory, IIS, and supporting enterprise infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience using PowerShell to automate platform administration, configuration management, and maintenance tasks.
• Advanced problem-solving skills to investigate systemic platform errors and isolate underlying technical causes.
• Ability to manage concurrent engineering priorities and execute independently in high-velocity environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to partner effectively across engineering disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience supporting unified SharePoint Server and SharePoint Online hybrid environments.
• Mastery of farm topologies, service applications, web applications, SQL databases, and enterprise search services.
• Expertise integrating M365 tenant services with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and federated authentication models.
• Proven skill leveraging PowerShell for automated platform administration and batch management.
• Hands-on experience directing complex content migrations, platform upgrades, and hybrid cloud modernizations.
• Proficiency troubleshooting network layers, SSL/TLS certificates, DNS, load balancers, and security perimeters.
• Deep understanding of enterprise permissions models, site security baselines, content governance, and compliance controls.
• Experience supporting and optimizing technical integrations with Microsoft Power Automate, Power Apps, and related services. Education/Certification Requirements
