Senior Software Engineer - Secret with Security Clearance

The Role Our client is seeking a Senior SME to support mission-critical cyber and network operations within the Department of War and Intelligence Community. In this role you will serve as the authoritative technical SME across frontend, backend, and cloud/DevOps domains, providing expert guidance on architecture, design patterns, and technology selection.

Qualified Senior SME should have the below skills:  •  Demonstrated SME-level mastery across the full stack: React (modern JavaScript/TypeScript), Python backend development with FastAPI and/or Django, AWS, and containerized deployment with Docker and Kubernetes. •  Proven track record leading major software development or modernization efforts end-to-end. •  Strong grounding in secure software development and cloud security practices. •  Infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform and Ansible) and GitOps-style deployment workflows. •  Familiarity with CMMC, NIST 800-171/800-53, or comparable compliance frameworks.

This work is located in Columbia, MD. Candidates must be a US Citizen with an active Secret level government clearance. Salary for this role is between $182,000 and $240,000, depending on experience, clearance level, location, and contract requirements.
