Job Description

In this role, you will help drive a strong culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement by supporting and enhancing site-wide EHS programs. Working in a collaborative and international environment, you will partner with leaders, employees, regulatory authorities, and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, promote sustainable practices, and implement practical solutions that contribute to a safer and more sustainable future.


In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the site's Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) management system in alignment with Emerson standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor changes in German and European EHS legislation and translate requirements into effective site processes and programs.
  • Partner with business leaders and employees to support compliance and promote safe, environmentally responsible working practices.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in environmental, occupational health, and workplace safety matters.
  • Perform responsibilities associated with legally appointed environmental, occupational safety, or related EHS officer functions, where applicable.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits, assessments, and investigations to identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop, communicate, and maintain practical EHS standards, procedures, and guidance that support operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with regulatory authorities, external partners, and internal stakeholders to support compliance and sustainability objectives.
  • Contribute to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives and support continuous improvement of EHS performance metrics and programs.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture by encouraging employee engagement, awareness, and accountability across the site.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Experience supporting Environmental, Health & Safety programs, compliance activities, or management systems within an industrial, manufacturing, engineering, or similarly regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of German and European environmental, occupational health, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Experience interpreting regulatory requirements and translating them into practical, business-focused solutions.
  • Familiarity with EHS management systems and continuous improvement practices.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and consulting skills with the ability to explain technical or legal requirements in a clear and practical manner.
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a structured and detail-oriented approach.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across different functions and organizational levels.
  • Professional proficiency in German and English.


Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Degree, certification, or formal training in Occupational Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience serving as an Environmental, Occupational Safety, or other legally appointed EHS officer.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Experience working in semiconductor manufacturing or another highly regulated production environment.
  • Experience supporting sustainability, ESG, or environmental performance improvement initiatives.
  • Understanding of risk assessment methodologies, auditing processes, and regulatory inspections.
