Are you an experienced senior HR / People leader looking for a Head of People role across East Yorkshire, where you can influence both people strategy and day-to-day delivery?

Do you have the credibility to lead established People teams, support senior leaders through complex workforce challenges and turn strategy into practical action across a multi-site organisation?

Would you like a role where you can shape workforce planning, talent, retention and manager capability, while acting as a trusted deputy to the organisation's senior People & Culture leader?

We are working with a large, complex, multi-site organisation to recruit a Head of People who will lead its ER & Talent functions. • Delivering a consistent, responsive and customer-focused People service across multiple sites and business areas.
  • Developing workforce, resourcing, talent, retention and succession plans aligned to current priorities and future skills requirements.
  • Providing senior-level advice and oversight on complex employee relations, organisational change, restructures and other high-risk people matters.
  • Building the capability and confidence of managers through coaching, practical guidance and targeted development.
  • Using workforce data, KPIs, benchmarking and employee insight to identify trends, manage risk and make clear recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Leading improvements to recruitment, onboarding, People processes and systems.
  • Deputising for the senior People & Culture lead, representing the People function in senior internal and external meetings.

Skills and experience required

We are looking for an experienced senior People / HR professional who can operate confidently at both strategic and operational level. You will be comfortable leading teams, influencing senior stakeholders and making sound decisions in complex or sensitive situations.

  • Significant senior People / HR leadership experience, ideally gained within a large, complex or multi-site organisation.
  • Proven experience of leading and developing multidisciplinary HR / People teams and creating a high-quality partnering and talent service.
  • Strong experience of complex employee relations, organisational change and workforce transformation.
  • Experience of developing and implementing workforce, resourcing, retention and succession strategies.
  • Comprehensive and current knowledge of UK employment law, employee relations, equality and data protection requirements.
  • A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel regularly between sites across East Yorkshire.

  • This is a senior, multi-site role with regular travel across East Yorkshire.
  • This can either be a full time contract working 37 hours a week, or we could consider a term time only contract of 37 hours a week.
  • Enhanced holidays starting at 30 days plus bank holidays.
