Job Description

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks a Senior Software Engineer to build mission-critical systems in our Defense & Aerospace Data Science & AI department. You will design, implement, and deploy secure, scalable software that operationalizes advanced analytics and machine learning for national security, space, and health missions. Partner with leading experts to transition research prototypes into robust systems, mentor junior engineers, and shape architectures for complex, data-intensive environments. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy robust software solutions for defense and aerospace data science and AI missions
  • Collaborate with data scientists and AI researchers to operationalize advanced analytics and machine learning models

  • Lead code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and promote best practices in software engineering
