Job Description

Specialist in Gastroenterology | Neumünster, Germany | On-site

We are seeking a highly motivated specialist in Gastroenterology to join a leading provider of specialized medical care, recognized for its commitment to innovation and excellence in patient treatment across a wide range of medical disciplines. This role offers the opportunity to practice at a key hospital that serves as a central healthcare provider in its region and is part of a renowned national clinic group.

The Role

  • Provide comprehensive medical care for inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology and internal medicine patients.
  • Independently perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy, with involvement in ERCP and endosonography.
  • Share responsibility for ward management, including directing patient care, conducting rounds, and collaborating across disciplines.
  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors, actively contributing to medical education and training programs.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with other internal medicine sections, surgical teams, radiology, and other specialized departments.
  • Participate in the strategic development of medical concepts, clinical pathways, and quality standards, as well as on-call duties.

What You'll Need

  • Board certification as a specialist in Internal Medicine; a specialization in Gastroenterology or Diabetology is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, with foundational knowledge or a willingness to train in endosonography and ERCP.
  • Proficiency in using clinical information systems (KIS) for documentation, patient management, and coding.
  • Strong organizational, independent, and responsible work ethic with excellent decision-making and prioritization skills.
  • Exceptional team and collaboration abilities, with effective communication skills in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary settings.
  • Interest in advancing medical processes, quality assurance, and contributing to medical education.
