Overview

Job Title: IT Specialist

Location: National Capital Region (Washington DC and surrounding areas)

Rivet Operations Company is looking for a IT Specialist to help inventory IT investments, assess their technical health, and safeguard Government data for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) in the National Capital Region.

The IT Specialist role is responsible for bringing the technical lens to portfolio decisions and determining whether investments are materiel or non-materiel. They will advise on IT readiness and risk insights into the assessment criteria. This position is a strong fit for a technically grounded specialist who can bridge IT knowledge with acquisition and portfolio analysis in a federal program environment.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory existing IT acquisitions, systems, and investments across CISA and support their integration into the portfolio taxonomy

Provide technical input to assessment criteria, particularly technical health and acquisition readiness of IT investments

Protect Government information and support data management across all task activities

Support compliance with applicable cybersecurity and privacy requirements

Support secure handling, transmission, and disposition of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) in accordance with contract requirements

Contribute technical content to deliverables and support accurate, on-time reporting against the project schedule

Requirements

Required Qualifications

U.S. citizenship and able to pass a High-Risk Public Trust background investigation.

Must possess a Bachelor's degree related to the field of work

3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience as a IT specialist, systems analyst, or similar technical role

Working knowledge of IT systems, data management practices, and federal cybersecurity and privacy requirements

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Prior experience within the Department of Homeland security with familiarity in cybersecurity is desired

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 40 lbs.
