RESPEC seeks a CQA Technician to support our Pipersville location.

The Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) Technician is responsible for performing construction quality assurance inspections and maintaining detailed documentation for Solid Waste and other projects. This role works closely with Project Managers to ensure project specifications, standards, and timelines are met.  Additional responsibilities include:

  • Perform construction quality assurance observation / inspections for Solid Waste, Environmental and Civil Construction Projects which include but is not limited to soils, concrete, concrete reinforcement, geosynthetics, and mechanical (piping) systems observation / testing
  • Perform soils testing including nuclear and non-nuclear gage density / compaction testing & proof roll testing
  • Read and understand engineering plans / details, technical specifications, and other project documents as needed to understand and perform project CQA requirements
  • Perform coordination with soils / geotechnical testing and geosynthetic testing laboratories
  • Perform environmental inspection for E&S controls and Permit Compliance
  • Monitor on-site contractors and work performed. Coordinate tasks and any deviation with the original design with the teams and project manager
  • Create project documentation including daily field reports, testing reports and document equipment used and equipment idle on location
  • Coordinate with project managers and staff, on-site contractors, and clients the timeline of the completion of project milestones
  • During periods of no CQA field work, assist with other field service programs such as but not limited to AutoCAD drafting, Surveying, Operations, and Engineering Support Services

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Associate's degree (Technical subject) preferred
  • ~1–3 years of relevant experience including soils and geosynthetics CQA
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with AutoCAD or other drafting software is preferred
  • Willingness to perform fieldwork year-round, potentially for extended durations.
  • Ability to work with a strong technical team, represent and communicate with the Client
  • Ability to work cooperatively with Contractors
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good written and oral communications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize work demands to meet deadlines while exercising independent judgment and working independently

Work Schedule: This is a regular full-time position with benefits. 

Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package. RESPEC is a 100% employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) after a qualifying period.
