AI Software Engineer - 176832 with Security Clearance

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an AI Software Developer to support a company focused on modernizing air traffic management systems through a hybrid cloud automation platform within the aviation and government technology sector. This position is hybrid in Gaithersburg, MD requiring 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week. The AI Software Developer will lead the design, development, and modernization of microservices-based applications supporting mission-critical, real-time operational systems. Responsibilities for the AI Software Developer include:

• Lead Agile sprint planning, technical execution, and delivery of software development objectives
• Design, develop, and maintain microservices-based applications using modern software engineering best practices
• Collaborate with product owners, systems engineers, architects, DevSecOps teams, and developers within a SAFe Agile environment
• Develop and integrate APIs, databases, messaging platforms, and cloud-native services while supporting CI/CD pipelines
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, debugging, refactoring, and software quality improvements

Required Qualifications for the AI Software Developer include:

• 4-8+ years of software development experience
• Hands-on experience developing and supporting microservices-based systems
• Strong programming experience with Java, C++, Python, or similar object-oriented languages in Linux environments
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools, AI/ML-enabled systems, automation platforms, or intelligent software solutions
• Experience working within Agile development environments
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust investigation
• Bachelor's Degree

Compensation for the AI Software Developer includes:

• Salary Range: $90,000-150,000 **Depending on education level and years of experience** There are senior and mid level openings within this range.
