About the role:
Reporting to our Head of Corporate Development, you'll be a core member of Nirvana's newly formed Corporate Development team, supporting M&A, strategic investments, and partnerships across the insurance value chain. You'll work closely with Strategic Finance, Insurance and Claims leadership, and your work will directly inform executive and board-level decisions. This is a high-visibility role for someone who wants hands-on deal experience at a fast-growing InsureTech company and the chance to take on more ownership as the function grows.
What you'll do:
Build and maintain financial models to evaluate acquisitions, investments, and strategic partnerships, including valuation, returns, and scenario analysis
Support due diligence processes across financial, commercial, and operational workstreams, coordinating with internal teams and outside advisors
Track the deal pipeline and sourcing initiatives, including market mapping and target screening across the MGA, claims, and data sectors
Prepare materials and analysis for executive and board-level discussions, including investment memos and transaction summaries
Support deal execution from initial evaluation through closing, helping manage timelines, diligence requests, and integration planning
About you:
2+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or a related field
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with experience evaluating complex transaction opportunities
Familiarity with financial services or FinTech is a plus; insurance or InsureTech experience is a bonus
Able to turn complex analysis into clear, concise materials for senior audiences
Highly organized and detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple workstreams at once
Strong communication skills, both written & verbal
Self-starter who independently seeks out opportunities to learn & succeed
Bias-to-action: not afraid to get your hands dirty and stretch yourself
Owner mentality: takes accountability for actions and results
Thrives in high-growth, ambiguous startup environments
Able to work full-time in our San Francisco office

We set our salary ranges using compensation data from companies similar to our stage and size. For this role, the estimated total cash for this position is $164,000-$205,000. The actual total cash salary will vary depending on multiple factors unique to each candidate, including location, job-related knowledge, transferable skills, work experience and our assessment of your level during the interview process. Nirvana offers equity for all full-time employees, which is not included in the range listed above and will have an impact on your overall compensation.
