Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Senior Golang Developer with strong hands-on experience in Go (Golang) and working knowledge of C and C++. The ideal candidate will develop, enhance, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend applications and software components.

The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering teams, architects, and product stakeholders to build efficient software solutions, troubleshoot complex technical challenges, and optimize application performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications and services using Go (Golang).

• Develop and enhance performance-critical components using C and C++.

• Design and implement RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.

• Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code.

• Apply data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and multithreading concepts to solve complex engineering problems.

• Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and resource utilization.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues.

• Develop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

• Participate in technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and code reviews.

• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases to support backend application requirements.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, development automation, and engineering best practices.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.

• Strong hands-on development experience with Go (Golang).

• Working knowledge of C and C++.

• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and software design principles.

• Experience building backend services, REST APIs, or distributed applications.

• Understanding of concurrency, multithreading, memory management, and performance optimization.

• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.

• Proficiency with Git, debugging tools, and standard development practices.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing microservices and cloud-native applications.

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or NATS.

• Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and networking fundamentals.

• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Contributions to open-source projects are a plus.

Important Candidate Requirements

• Must currently be local to the Menlo Park, CA area.

• Must be willing to work onsite 3 days per week.

• Must be available for an in-person interview.

• Must be able to work on W2 at a maximum rate of $55–$60/hr.
